Verve Accounting
Verve Accounting's commitment to continue to provide you with a reliable and timely service will not change. These precautionary measures have been taken to limit the potential spread of the virus, to support our employees and to ensure we maintain our ability to provide you with an ongoing efficient service. Therefore, Verve Accounting employees have commenced working from home with immediate effect.

They will continue to undertake all the usual work they do for you and can be contacted via email and by their direct dial telephone numbers. The direct dial numbers are shown on the signatures of the employees' emails. The direct dial office number 02381 120301 can still be used and you can leave a message if required and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

That phone is manned Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm. If you need to drop anything into the office please phone 02381 120301 to make sure someone is here to meet you. If you're looking for an Accountant in Southampton we're sure you'll find that there's quite a lot of accountancy firms out there.
Services
Would you like a fixed fee per month general accountancy service where someone has always got your back?
We use our commercial expertise to walk you through your end of year figures to make sure you understand where you might do better and where you're doing just fine.
And, if you need ongoing in depth analysis, we provide monthly or quarterly management accounts.
We take it upon ourselves to guarantee you're trading in a compliant way by flagging deadlines in good time and we deal with the necessary spread sheets and paperwork whilst you concentrate on building your business.
You could overpay (which you won't hear about) or underpay (which you certainly will hear about!).
How many reasons DO you need to outsource your payroll?
The legislation around paying your employees is constantly changing, things like tax thresholds, maternity/paternity pay, minimum wage and changes of tax relief on pension contributions.
As a self-employed person you need to understand the most tax efficient way to run your business and claim your expenses.
As an individual it's likely that you will have to complete a personal Tax Return every year.
By the way if you're organised and can get your information to us way before the deadline we'll give you a preferential rate!
It's challenging enough setting up a business without worrying that you don't know what you don't know in terms of finance and regulations!
Firstly, we offer a free meeting to explore with you the best way in which to set up your business: As a limited company?
As a partnership?
As a sole trader?
We explain the tax system, about the different ways of paying VAT and about choosing your accounting date.
Should you need our further help you can take advantage of our preferred rates for start-ups and you can trust us to take care of all the paperwork: registrations, form filings, spread sheets - the lot!
As you probably know, IR35 imposes a punitive tax liability where someone is thought to have deliberately misrepresented the fact that they're a self-employed person working for one employer.
The basic rules are easy to understand but actually applying these AND establishing your employment status can be a lot trickier.
What's more IR35 penalties can be retrospective - so tax liability can be imposed on past earnings.
A cursory check of an agency contract has limited value and may provide absolutely no protection against HMRC challenges.
