McGovern Accountancy Ltd recognises compliance with company law legislation is complex and time consuming and failure to keep you statutory returns up to date can be costly and may result in strike off by the registrar of companies.
Completing and filing all documents in relation to changes in Directors, Shareholdings etc.
The annual tax-free allowance (known as the Annual Exempt Amount) allows you to make a certain amount of gains each year before you have to pay tax.
Nearly everyone who is liable to Capital Gains Tax gets this tax-free allowance.
Most other trustees get a lower Annual Exempt Amount.
From 2015 to 2016, non-residents who dispose of UK residential property will be liable to Capital Gains Tax and, in most cases, will be able to claim the Annual Exempt Amount in the same way as for UK residents.
However, this Annual Exempt Amount will not be available to companies who dispose of a UK residential property as other allowances may be claimed.
The same weekly Statutory Sick Pay rate applies to all employees.
However, the amount you must actually pay an employee for each day they're off work due to illness (the daily rate) depends on the number of 'qualifying days' they work each week.
As an employer you're responsible for operating the SSP scheme, which includes making payments to employees who meet certain qualifying conditions.
You must put your sickness policy in a written statement of employment particulars and give a copy to all employees who have worked for you for at least a month.
Most workers who work a 5-day week, must receive 28 days paid annual leave per year.
This is calculated by multiplying a normal week (5 days) by the annual entitlement of 5.6 weeks.
Part-time workers are also entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks of paid holiday each year, although this may amount to fewer actual days of paid holiday than a full-time worker would get.
A worker works 3 days a week, their leave is calculated by multiplying 3 by 5.6 which comes to 16.8 days of annual paid leave.
If someone works irregular hours - eg shift work - they need to calculate their leave entitlement for irregular hours.
