Martin Cook is a Chartered Accountant and owner and Managing Director of Martin Cook Accounting Services Ltd ("MCAS"). Martin graduated from Glasgow University as a Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc.) in 1989 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) in 1993. Martin has been providing quality advice to clients since 2001 and in 2009 decided to specialise in accounts and tax services for contractors and consultants.

We prefer to err on the side of caution - it is not our job to expose our contractor clients to tax risk!
A worker (contractor) is deemed not to have a permanent workplace for up to 2 years and therefore it may be possible to claim the costs of travelling to the workplace.
It is possible to reclaim 5 or 10 per day for meals when away from home depending on circumstances.
