Simon is 32 years old and Derby born and bred.
Despite enjoying his school years at Murray Park in Mickleover, Simon became unsettled at college and decided to leave a couple of weeks after starting his A Levels.
With his original plans of working in a bank looking unlikely, in 1994 Simon applied for an office junior position at Malcolm H Preece. Despite being told the position had been filled, Simon was approached by the firm's Taxation Manager, Jenny Watson, who offered him an assistant position within the firm.
