Umbrella is our traditional and fully compliant pay model. Designed to be simple and easy to use, Umbrella suits most contractors who are subject to supervision, direction or control (SDC). Motion is our PAYE model that allows contractors to maximise their income by providing tax relief on business-related expenses. This pay model is designed for contractors who are not subject to supervision, direction or control (SDC).

Contractors registered with the HMRC's Construction Industry Scheme are eligible for our CIS pay model.
Services
If you work under, have your tasks set by or are supervised by the client, you're deemed to be operating under their supervision, direction and control.
If this sounds like you then you won't be able to claim expenses.
If you're operating independently, are managing yourself and are not under the direct supervision of the client, you are unlikely to be operating under SDC.
If that sounds like you then you will be able to claim expenses.
If you're working on a self-employed (CIS) basis then you won't be able to claim expenses back through Apex.

Apex have a rigorous compliance process for each and every worker which minimises the risk and liabilities that you face as an agency.
We receive payment from your agency for the hours you have worked, from which we will make any necessary deductions, such as National Insurance, Income Tax, our margin and your pension contributions.
Apex will then pay the relevant deductions straight across to HMRC, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
There's no joining fee to register with Apex.
Our competitive margin structure is quoted upon registration and is based upon your chosen payment option and the amount you earn.
It's also taken directly from the funds we receive from your agency before any other deductions are made, e.g.
