M K Bookkeeping
Mary has been a bookkeeper since 2001 where she ran the accounts department of a busy construction company for eight years, prior to this she worked for National Westminster bank. Mary is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. We have a harmonious ethos by working closely with our clients. Accounts are managed personally by one dedicated bookkeeper, who is familiar with the accounts under their care.

Our services are tailored to the specific needs of the business and we are proud of the relationships we have built. Our belief is that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance and we are committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and provide you with a tailored service you can rely on.
Services
If you are running a small business it might be cost effective for you to do your own bookkeeping, but if you have never set up a set of accounts this can seem like a daunting task.
Training is held at your office, using your own data and covers all you need in order to maintain your books in an organised manner, allowing you to know where you stand financially at any time.
The pace and quantity of training is set to your own limits and topics are thoroughly covered and reviewed each session.
The training will provide you with lots of essential information to enable you to build a clear and accurate set of accounts.
All UK employers (regardless of size) must enrol their workforce into a workplace pension scheme.
Anyone running a payroll of any size, from 1 worker upwards, is included within this reform and MUST COMPLY, this includes nannies, carers and domestic staff.
Eligible jobholders must be automatically enrolled onto a qualifying pension scheme.
Non-eligible jobholders and entitled workers must be allowed to contribute to it if they want to (scroll down for workers categories).
Employers will be introduced gradually until 2018 and have been allocated a staging date, this is the date that a qualifying pension scheme must be in place.
Staying on top of daily transactions and completing the frequent and necessary Governmental returns on time is a hassle that you can well do without.
MK Bookkeeping has been designed to fulfil these time consuming obligations on your behalf, so you can concentrate your energies into maximising your business' potential and improving your profitability.
By providing comprehensive bookkeeping services covering all aspects of financial control you are given a clear picture of your company's financial position.
Businesses in the construction industry operate under different rules to other businesses - they must be registered and operate under the Construction Industry Scheme.
It sets out how to pay to subcontractors and there are strict rules that contractors must adhere to.
Failure to follow these rules will result in large penalties being levied on the contractor.
If your business does fall within the scope of the CIS you have certain obligations: you must register with the scheme; before you pay anyone you must check whether your subcontractors are registered with HMRC and every month you must submit a monthly return to HMRC.
If you give your customers credit and find your aged debtors balance is bigger than your cash flow inwards you are in need of a credit controller.
Without the right credit control procedures in place all of your hard work in generating sales could be wasted.
Keep a record or all communication with the customer, this is important when there are payment problems and the account becomes legal, these records are needed for court proceedings.
