Fairhurst is registered to carry on audit work and regulated for a range of investment business activities in the UK and Ireland by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Gary joined Fairhurst in 1984, becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant in 1986 on his way to becoming partner in 1996.
He also passed his financial planning exams prior to setting up Fairhurst Financial Planning in 2002.
Gary acts for a large number of SMEs with turnover up to 40m and has a particular interest in new start ups and also assisting companies in raising finance via his large network of contacts.
Away from work Gary is a keen sports fan with a particular interest in Rugby League.
Stephen joined Fairhurst as a partner in 2001 after seven years with PwC in the mergers and acquisitions division.

As an accounts/audit senior you will be responsible for assisting the managers and partners in managing a portfolio of clients including companies, partnership and sole practitioners.
Planning and carrying out and completing statutory audits of corporate clients, both on-site and back in the office.
Assist corporate finance team with specialist assignments such as acquisition advice, business disposals, raising finance, business plans, preparing projections, sector research and analysis.
Experience of systems controls testing as well as substantive and analytical review auditing techniques, including consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts and disclosures and use of paperless electronic audit files.
Fairhurst are an accredited training provider with ICAEW(ACA), ACCA and AAT and are committed to providing the highest standard of learning, training and career development for our students.
We also ensure our existing qualified members are given all the resources they need to meet their CPD requirements.
