Services
We offer a free initial consultation to all start-ups and small to medium sized businesses.
At this initial meeting we would discuss your requirements with you.
These may be purely compliance, being preparation of annual accounts together with Self Assessment Tax Returns, or may involve business start-up advice, raising finance, initial cashflow forecasts or profit projections.
We can also prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts and provide advice on taxation liabilities based on current profits and anticipated future profits.
There are four partners in the practice, Sir Peter Parker, Tom Hudson, Adrian Haigh and Ashley Akeroyd, all of whom are ICAEW qualified.
Sir Peter was at Pricewaterhouse, where he qualified, between 1969 and 1975, before spending two years at Raleigh Industries (cycle manufacturers) and a further two years at NAAFI in Nottingham.
He then joined a local firm of estate agents and chartered surveyors based in Newark from 1980 to 1987, where he was the partnership accountant and specialised in flat management and residential service charge accounts.
We currently act for over 700 clients, including many local businesses, operating in a wide range of market sectors.
Our clients cover many different business activities and operate as sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, limited companies, charities and other organisations.
We are pleased to record that there are a number of clients for whom we have acted continuously in excess of fifty years.
We are always ready to discuss accounting, audit or taxation requirements with any individual or business, regardless of size, and we are always happy to talk to new and existing clients to explore ways in which we can help them.
Whether you're a sole trader, partnership, LLP, limited company, charity or other organisation you will need to have a set of accounts each year, which we can prepare in the required format necessary to comply with current legislation.
These accounts may be required for tax compliance or to meet other statutory regulations, but will also give you further insight into your business finances.
We take pride in working very closely with our clients in order to gain a full understanding of their business operations.
Accounting and audit regulations are arduous and our aim is to deal with them with as little hassle as possible so that you can get on with running your business.
We are qualified to deal with all statutory and bespoke audit assignments.
There is much more to an audit than the annual year end compliance visit.
Aside from fulfilling all legal audit necessities, our audit approach gives us the chance to really see how your business is run and to review and test the systems you have in place.
We have set criteria and pre-agreed timetables to work with your accounting staff so that your annual audit process is as speedy and efficient as possible.
